Spartan Flight Academy has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to begin FAA Part 141 flight training operations, in addition to their FAA Part 61 training, at its Grand Prairie, Texas, campus, marking a significant milestone in the academy’s continued growth and commitment to professional pilot education.
The FAA certification authorizes Spartan Flight Academy to offer a structured Part 141 curriculum designed to provide students with an accelerated and highly organized pathway toward professional pilot careers while meeting rigorous federal standards for aviation training, safety, and operational oversight.
The approval expands Spartan Flight Academy’s training capabilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and strengthens its ability to support growing workforce demand within the aviation industry.
“This approval marks an important milestone in Spartan’s strategic expansion and reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional aviation education across multiple locations,” said Robert Werederich, Executive Vice President of Flight Operations. “The addition of FAA Part 141 training at Grand Prairie reflects the strength of our operational standards, instructional quality, and long-term investment in developing highly skilled aviation professionals.”
FAA Part 141 flight schools operate under a structured curriculum approved and regularly reviewed by the FAA. These programs are designed to provide a more standardized and efficient training environment, with defined lesson objectives, stage checks, and continuous oversight to support student progression and training consistency.
“The FAA’s approval of our Grand Prairie location for Part 141 training is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in aviation education,” said Rob Polston, Chief Executive Officer of Spartan Flight Academy. “This expansion strengthens our ability to train the next generation of professional pilots while enhancing our capacity to serve the aviation needs of the Dallas-Fort Worth community and beyond.”
The new Part 141 training operation is designed to complement Spartan Flight Academy’s existing Part 61 program, which has provided recreational and career-focused flight training opportunities for aspiring pilots for years.
Students enrolled in the Part 141 program at the Grand Prairie campus will have access to a comprehensive career pilot pathway that includes multiple FAA certifications and ratings, including:
- Private Pilot Certificate (PPC)
- Instrument Rating (IR)
- Commercial Pilot Certificate (CPC)
- Multi-Engine Rating (MEL)
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
The academy said the expanded training structure will provide students with additional flexibility and support as they pursue airline and commercial aviation careers.
Spartan Flight Academy’s Grand Prairie campus is located in one of the nation’s most active aviation regions, providing students with access to diverse flight environments, controlled airspace experience, and proximity to major aviation employers and airline operations.
Leadership noted that the approval reflects the collaborative efforts of instructors, flight operations personnel, maintenance teams, and administrative staff who worked closely with the FAA throughout the certification process.
“As demand for pilots continues to grow across the aviation industry, Spartan Flight Academy remains focused on creating high-quality, scalable training pathways that prepare students for long-term success,” Dr. Todd Cellini, Chief Operating Officer, said. “This certification further positions Spartan to support the future workforce needs of commercial aviation while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.”
