N-Power Medicine, a company reinventing oncology drug development and community cancer patient care, today announced the close of a $32 million Series B financing round to fuel the company’s next phase of growth – expanding its community oncology network, deepening pharma partnerships and continued investment in product development.
The round includes new strategic investor Labcorp Venture Fund, along with continued participation from Merck Global Health Innovation Fund (Merck GHI), Innovatus Capital Partners, and a leading U.S.-based biotech investor. The funds will support continued scale-up of N-Power’s community oncology research network and further reinforce N-Power as the market leader in next-generation models for drug development.
N-Power’s Prospective External Control Arm (ProECA) product enables smaller, faster trials with reduced reliance on randomization, and allows for better informed early development decision-making. ProECAs are standalone, prospective, trial-grade external control arms generated in routine care, which cut patient enrollment requirements, shorten trial timelines, and lower development costs, while expanding opportunities for more patients to participate in cancer research.
Labcorp Venture Fund’s investment marks the second strategic investment from a healthcare industry leader, following Merck GHI, further validating N-Power’s novel approach to oncology drug development and broadened access to clinical research in community oncology. Labcorp is a global leader of innovative and comprehensive laboratory services, and, through the Labcorp Venture Fund, invests in innovative technologies that advance more personalized, accessible and data-driven healthcare.
“N-Power’s innovative approach has the potential to accelerate oncology drug development while expanding access to clinical research in community care settings,” said Megann Vaughn Watters, Managing Director, Labcorp Venture Fund. “We are excited to support the company as it scales this model and broadens its impact for patients and providers.”
N-Power’s first ProECA, focused on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), is operational at more than 40 sites across its community oncology research network, spanning multiple large community-based health systems. Several pharmaceutical and biotech partners use the NSCLC ProECA today to accelerate their early development and Phase 4 programs. N-Power will launch ProECA in colorectal cancer and prostate cancer later this year.
“We’ve built a model that creates value for drug developers, community oncologists, and cancer patients. By bringing prospective external control arm programs directly into everyday cancer care, we dramatically speed up drug development while giving many more oncologists and patients access to research and innovative therapies,” said Mark Lee, M.D., Ph.D., N-Power Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “With Labcorp Venture Fund joining our existing investors, this financing lets us scale and set a new standard for how oncology drug development gets done.”
About N-Power Medicine
N-Power Medicine has built a national network of community oncology centers, creating the first “always-on” Prospective External Control Arm (ProECA) platform that enables drug developers to reduce or replace randomized control arms and run faster, smaller, more efficient clinical trials, while simultaneously expanding access to clinical research and innovation for physicians and patients in the communities where they live.
