The 2026 ChIPs Global Summit will feature Chief Legal Officers from major entertainment, communications, technology, and manufacturing.
SAN FRANCISCO , CA, UNITED STATES, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Esteemed General Counsels Gina Beredo of Owens Corning, Ann Cathcart Chaplin of Qualcomm Incorporated, Jill Ratner of Sony Pictures Entertainment and Cynthia Tregillis of Western Digital will join ChIPs Network’s Board Chair Dorian Daley for the panel “Setting the Stage: CLOs Driving Strategy.” The conversation is part of the ChIPs Global Summit 2026, happening October 22 in Los Angeles, CA. More than 800 ChIPs members are expected to attend the sold-out event at the J.W. Marriott LA LIVE.
The panel is part of the ChIPs Global Summit theme for 2026, “The Next Act: IP, Innovation, and Influence,” where panelists will discuss the evolving influence and responsibilities of the Chief Legal Officer in an evolving landscape.

Gina Beredo is Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel at Owens Corning, a role she stepped into in 2025 after joining the company in 2021 as general counsel. She led the acquisition and integration of Masonite International with Owens Corning, a nearly $4 billion deal. Ms. Beredo currently oversees all human resources functions, legal and corporate affairs, alongside aviation and community affairs responsibilities.
Ann Cathcart Chaplin is EVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Qualcomm, with global responsibility for all Legal operations and functions. She joined Qualcomm in 2021 after serving at General Motors for nearly six years, where she was corporate secretary and deputy general counsel, overseeing corporate governance, litigation, IP and compliance matters. A longtime member of the ChIPs San Diego chapter, this occasion marks the second time Ms. Chaplin has spoken at the ChIPs Global Summit after joining the stage in 2023.
Jill Ratner has served as EVP and General Counsel at Sony Pictures Entertainment since May 2024, overseeing legal, compliance and labor relations, music affairs, government affairs and corporate social responsibility. A longtime veteran of the entertainment industry, she joined Sony Pictures after five years at The Walt Disney Company, where she had served as deputy general counsel since 2019, leading a global legal team focused on litigation, intellectual property and digital antipiracy. Before Disney, she spent 15 years at 21st Century Fox and earlier worked at the Motion Picture Association.
Cynthia Tregillis is Chief Legal Officer and Secretary at Western Digital, overseeing worldwide legal, risk management, compliance and government relations. Her tenure at Western Digital dates back to 2012, most recently serving as senior vice president and deputy general counsel before her current role. Ms. Tregillis sits on the boards of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, the U.S.-India Business Council and the International Anticounterfeiting Coalition. Ms. Tregillis is a founding chapter leader of ChIPs Los Angeles.
