Among providers with reproducible public pricing, modeled annual recurring costs for 50 vehicles ranged from $4,296 to $15,000.
LONG ISLAND CITY, NY, UNITED STATES, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Public pricing for commercial fleet GPS tracking remains difficult for small businesses to compare, according to a new study from Spytec GPS examining pricing, fees, commercial terms and product features across 12 U.S. fleet-tracking providers.
The 2026 Small-Fleet GPS Pricing & Features Study reviewed first-party public information from Spytec GPS, ClearPathGPS, Quartix, RAM Tracking, Momentum IoT, BrickHouse Security, Linxup, Azuga, Samsara, Motive, Verizon Connect and Geotab.
Only five of the 12 providers reviewed had public pricing sufficiently clear and internally consistent to calculate standard recurring subscription costs for fleets of 5, 10, 25 and 50 vehicles without contacting sales or choosing between conflicting public prices.
Those five were Spytec GPS, Quartix, Momentum IoT, Linxup and Azuga.
For a 50-vehicle fleet, modeled annual recurring subscription costs ranged from $4,296 for Spytec Pulse OBD to $15,000 for Linxup vehicle GPS and Azuga BasicFleet. Quartix Info Point modeled to $8,400 annually and Momentum IoT Eagle One to $9,600. The difference between the lowest and highest modeled figures was approximately 3.5 times.
The plans are not necessarily feature-equivalent, and the study does not treat the price comparison as an overall value ranking.
Seven researched providers were excluded from the numerical model rather than assigned estimates. One provider’s previously observed exact public price could not be reverified during the research audit. Two had multiple current first-party pricing representations that could not be confidently reconciled. Four required a sales, quote or authorized-reseller process to establish a current numerical subscription price.
The study’s methodology was deliberately conservative: if a price could not be reproduced from a provider’s own public information without assumptions, it was not estimated.
Fleet size also affected published pricing. Spytec was the only provider in the five-provider modeled group for which the study applied an automatic fleet-size discount schedule because its public pricing specifies both the discount percentages and qualifying device counts.
Spytec publishes automatic discounts of 5% for 5–9 devices, 10% for 10–24, 15% for 25–49 and 20% for 50–99 devices. The study did not estimate unpublished or negotiated volume discounts for other providers.
The research also found that “real-time GPS” is not one standardized technical measurement. Quartix documents Info Point as generating GPS positions every minute while transmitting the latest two positions every two minutes. Momentum IoT documents Eagle One as logging coordinates every 10 seconds and transmitting six breadcrumbs every 60 seconds. Azuga documents a two-minute location cadence for BasicFleet. Spytec describes Pulse OBD as providing real-time updates as fast as one second.
Because GPS sampling, device logging, cellular transmission and software-map refresh can represent different technical events, the study reports providers’ own terminology rather than converting them into a single update-speed ranking.
Publicly documented historical-location availability also varied. Spytec publishes 365 days of trip history, Quartix publishes three years for Info Point, RAM Tracking publishes three months for its Lite plan, and Linxup’s Location History tool supports searches within the previous two years.
Spytec conducted the research on August 31, 2026, using first-party U.S. provider sources, including official pricing pages, product pages, help and support documentation, terms and provider-operated stores.
Third-party pricing estimates and competitor-authored comparisons were excluded as evidence. Temporary promotions, introductory free periods, taxes, optional add-ons and unpublished or negotiated discounts were also excluded from modeled recurring costs.
