Fandango Raises $5 Million for Boys & Girls Clubs of America Through Customer Round-Up Campaign

Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and Fandango today announced that customers have contributed more than $5 million through Fandango’s customer round-up since its initial launch in late January 2025. In July alone, customers contributed more than $500,000, the highest monthly amount raised since the campaign launched. This momentum comes as moviegoing reaches new heights, with record-breaking box office sales this summer helping drive increased customer participation.

Launched as part of Fandango’s partnership, the campaign supports Boys & Girls Clubs, with customers able to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar at checkout and donate the difference. A key goal of the partnership is to introduce the next generation of moviegoers, as well as young people who may one day want to be part of the moviegoing and entertainment industry, to experiences that inspire them, open doors and help them reach their potential.

Since the partnership began, the campaign has helped provide movie theater experiences to over 20,000 youth at 151 Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide, giving them opportunities to explore new interests and learn about potential careers in the entertainment industry.

The partnership has also connected Club youth with some of the entertainment industry’s biggest movie moments, and for some, these experiences may be their first time visiting a movie theater or seeing a blockbuster on the big screen. In 2026, Club youth have attended premieres of GOAT, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Young Washington, giving them the opportunity to experience the entertainment industry firsthand and see what happens behind the scenes. These opportunities are designed to spark creativity, broaden perspectives and inspire the next generation of filmmakers, producers and industry leaders.

“Reaching this $5 million milestone in less than two years is a remarkable testament to the generosity of Fandango customers and the strength of this partnership,” said Jim Clark, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “Every time a customer rounds up, they’re helping provide young people with a safe place to go after school and opportunities to learn, grow, and become future-ready. Through this partnership, thousands of Club youth have had the chance to experience movies on the big screen, attend special screenings and premieres, and explore careers in the entertainment industry. We’re incredibly grateful to Fandango and the customers who have chosen to invest in young people, helping more kids and teens discover what’s possible and build great futures.”

“Movies have the unique power to spark imagination, create connection and show young people what’s possible,” said Will McIntosh, President, Digital Platforms & Ventures, Versant. “Reaching $5 million is a remarkable milestone made possible by the generosity of Fandango moviegoers, whose contributions have added up to something truly meaningful. We’re proud to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to give more young people the opportunity to experience the magic of movies, explore the world of entertainment and see themselves as the next generation of storytellers.”

Beyond movie outings, the partnership has given Club youth opportunities to explore their interests in storytelling and entertainment. Nationally, 72 percent of Club kids say they can communicate their thoughts and feelings through art, while 55 percent say they are interested in exploring future careers in the arts.

“After attending the Spider-Man movie, I am really interested in the entertainment industry. It helped me see that I could picture myself becoming an actor or even an interviewer on a red carpet someday,” said a Club youth participant. “Experiences like this show me what’s possible and inspire me to dream bigger about my future.”

By making a small donation at checkout, Fandango customers have collectively created life-changing opportunities for thousands of young people, from experiencing movies on the big screen to gaining exposure to the entertainment industry and discovering new possibilities. Together, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Fandango are helping ensure that the next generation not only enjoys the magic of movies but also sees a future for themselves in creating them.
