Undergraduate engineering program climbs 10 places nationally

POTSDAM, N.Y., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Clarkson University continues to stand out nationally for the value of its education and strength of its academic programs, earning a place among the Top 50 Best Value Schools in the 2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings.

Clarkson was also ranked among the Top 150 National Universities and No. 71 among private National Universities. The University’s undergraduate engineering program made one of its strongest moves this year, climbing 10 spots in the national rankings.

The rankings add to a growing body of data demonstrating the return on investment of a Clarkson education, particularly through the career outcomes and earning power of its graduates.

Clarkson’s undergraduate Class of 2025 reported an average starting salary of $82,786, with 96% of graduates employed, continuing their education or pursuing other opportunities within six months of graduation. A recent national analysis by Stacker ranked Clarkson No. 39 in the country for median mid-career earnings, with alumni reporting median pay of $139,900.

Clarkson engineers are advancing semiconductor manufacturing and materials technologies through the Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP), developing solutions to detect and destroy PFAS through the Center for Air and Aquatic Resources Engineering and Sciences (CAARES) and the NYS Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions, and addressing the transition to a cleaner, more resilient electric grid through the Center for Electric Power System Research (CEPSR).
